Embossing
Embossing is the art of making an dimensional impression on paper or board. Two types of embossing can be made: 1) the EMBOSS is a relief impression that extends slightly above the paper/board surface. 2) DEBOSS is just the reverse, it is impressed into the paper/board below the primary paper/board surface.
Both are highly effective in producing a very elequent impression and are considered an extremely valuable graphic tool. In both cases the embossing may be enhanced by adding a FOIL color or HALFTONE graphic in the embossed areas.
